What is Paediatric Physiotherapy?

Paediatric physiotherapists are movement specialists for babies, children and adolescents who help them achieve their maximum physical potential.

It can help children with a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: developmental delays, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and brain injuries.

How can Paediatric Physiotherapy help my child?

Overall, Paediatric Physiotherapy can help children with disabilities to improve their physical function and quality of life.

Improve mobility

Paediatric Physiotherapy can help children who have difficulty moving around or who have limited mobility due to a disability or delayed development. Tailored exercise programs and the use of assistive technology devices can help children to walk, run and play more easily!

Build Strength

Children who have weak muscles may benefit from Paediatric Physiotherapy to help them build strength and improve their ability to perform everyday activities.

Improve coordination

Paediatric Physiotherapy can help children with coordination and balance challenges to move more smoothly and with greater control.

Enhance developmental skills

Children with developmental delays may benefit from Paediatric Physiotherapy to help them reach important milestones, such as rolling over, sitting up or walking.

A different approach for each child’s unique needs

We assess each child’s current functioning level and create an individualised plan to help them reach their maximum potential. Our therapies are fun, engaging, and tailored to meet their unique needs.

Our Key Services

  • Hydrotherapy

    Effective exercise

Hydrotherapy, or physio in water, is a fun way for children to improve their rehabilitation and exercise outcomes, with the reduced gravity and buoyancy in the pool assisting a child to do things they may not be able to do on land.

Water provides five times the resistance of air allowing more effective cardiovascular fitness improvement, and helps to strengthen both the limbs and the core simultaneously.
